Community Payback thank you letter

We were delighted to receive this recent letter from the Head Teacher of a local infant school:

I wanted to take the time to say a big thank you to the service on behalf of all the staff, pupils & families at Kingsway Infant School.

We have been lucky enough to have worked with your supervisor Angela Giakovmis and her teams for a number of years. We have mutually benefited in so many ways.

The people doing Community Payback generally seem to enjoy coming to our school and working hard and making a real difference.

I always go out of my way to thank them, as although I know they have not chosen to volunteer their time, they can see the difference their contribution makes to our school life.

I was delighted last weekend when somehow we managed to get 3 full days work at my school.

I saw two young ladies painting and I challenged them to paint me a sign for my office door. I found a picture online and left them to it. The next day it was done. One lacked some confidence but I can’t wait to see her again and thank her for the amazing job.

These photos show the pond, Bunny Palace, Nature area, and covered waiting area all designed by Angela and built by your clients. Some of the painted animals are amazing. Especially the Gruffalo.

The Mayor of Watford opened our last big project (done by Angela in 2013) and I am hoping to get our MP to come and host our next celebratory event for the bunny palace and nature garden.

Look at these photos to give you an idea of the scope of the achievement. Angela does her best to use whatever talent arrives and teach new skills to those who maybe think they have none.

I have rarely got any money but always got bits and pieces that I need help with and I know other school leaders would welcome this service.

Kind regards

Head Teacher
